My first match

It was my first cricket match from club. It was a friendly 2020 match with some other club. Mostly, juniors from our club were playing in this match. So, I also got a chance to play the chance as I was a new player in the club.

I joined this club a week back. The first couple of days were really hard. I wasn't getting the pace that I was expecting. Secondly, I was facing a number of injuries. The heal of my left leg and the ankle of my right leg were really sore due to bowling on some bad pitch. My shoulders were so much sore that I couldn't lift my hands to eat. There was also pain in my back because of my really weird action. But I had expected it before joining the club so i wasn't worried about the injuries. The main worry is the pace. I can't bowl quick even when I give my best. But it changed on the third day when I bowled a couple of really quick deliveries. I don't even know how I bowled that quick but I'll figure it out soon. Right now, I just want to concentrate on my runup and bowling action.

So, the day of the match arrived. I bowled 3 overs in the match and conceded 21 runs without any wickets. Its a pretty good effort especially considering that it was a 2020 match and mostly bowlers concede above 40 runs in their 4 overs in club cricket. Even 40 runs are considered quite good at club level. So, it was a good effort as far as the performance is concerned. But my big achivement was that i only bowled one no ball in the 3 overs. I have a pretty big problem of bowling no balls and I was expecting atleast 5-7 no balls in my spell. The second achievement was that I made it to the seniors team with just one match.

Its another match tomorrow and all seniors in the club will be playing and the coach has asked me to come to the match as well. It will be a big day tomorrow and I am looking forward to it. My control over the no ball in today's match mean that I can concentrate on bowling tomorrow rather than just worring about no balls.
